Handler's dad was Jewish and she was raised up Reform Judaism. Handler enjoyed a pleasant and healthy being raised in a wealthy area. In her early twenties, Handler relocated into Los Angeles in order to take on acting. Handler started performing to earn cash. Handler's ability to write stories came into play as she reached the age of 21. Handler then decided to devote her full-time career to stand-up comedy. Handler made her debut on her role on the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving badly, a reality show with the use of a hidden camera/practical comedy. It was in air from 2002 to 2005. The host appeared on numerous shows including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was also a an associate to The Tonight Show. Handler got her most famous break in 2006, when she became the host of E! named The Chelsea Handler Show. The show ran for two seasons.
